THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 545 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTY

   IN THE EAST CENTRAL PART OF COLORADO
      ELBERT

INCLUDING THE TOWN OF KIOWA

 AT 430 PM MDT...RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 40 MILES
 NORTHWEST OF LIMON OR 7 MILES NORTHEAST OF KIOWA MOVING TO THE
 EAST SOUTHEAST AT 40 MILES AN HOUR. THIS STORM WILL PASS I-70
 WEST OF LIMON AFTER 5PM AND NORTH OF LIMON AROUND 5:15 PM.

THESE STORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE OR
NO ADVANCE WARNING...SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO
A PLACE OF SAFETY IF ONE IS SPOTTED.

IN HOMES GO TO THE BASEMENT OR INTO A CLOSET OR BATHROOM.  IN SCHOOLS
...HIGH RISES AND HOSPITALS GO TO AN INTERIOR HALLWAY ON THE LOWEST
