...FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THE EASTERN 1/3RD OF NEBRASKA TONIGHT...
...TORNADO WATCH UNTIL 11 PM CDT FOR PARTS OF CENTRAL NEBRASKA WEST OF
GRAND ISLAND...

AT 635 PM CDT...GRAND ISLAND RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS IN EXTREME
SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA AND IN PARTS OF CENTRAL AND NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS.
SOME OF THESE STORMS WERE VERY STRONG AND WERE PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN.

IN NEBRASKA...THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE WEST OF A LINE FROM 20 MILES WEST OF
NORTH PLATTE TO 10 MILES WEST OF MCCOOK.  IN KANSAS THE STORMS WERE IN A
50 MILE WIDE AREA WEST OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES EAST OF HILL CITY...TO
NEAR DODGE CITY.  ALL OF THE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN
HOUR.

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED IN SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA EARLY THIS EVENING
AND THUNDERSTORMS IN NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS WERE POISED TO ENTER INTO THE
SOUTH CENTRAL PART OF THE STATE.

AT 735 PM CDT...GRAND ISLAND RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS IN A 40 MILE
WIDE AREA WEST OF A LINE FROM NEAR NORTH PLATTE TO 15 MILES EAST OF
MCCOOK.  GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED WITH A STORM 25 MILES SOUTHWEST
OF NORTH PLATTE...AND RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE HAIL WITH THIS STORM.
THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR.

IN NORTHERN KANSAS...THUNDERSTORMS WERE SOUTH AND WEST OF A LINE FROM THE
KANSAS BORDER SOUTH OF KEARNEY...TO 10 MILES WWEST OF CONCORDIA.  THESE
STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR.  A STORM WITH VERY
HEAVY RAIN...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL BE ROLLING
OVER THE HARLAN COUNTY RESERVOIR BETWEEN 800 AND 830 PM.  BOATERS AND
CAMPERS IN THAT AREA SHOULD STAY OUT OF THE WATER UNTIL AFTER THE
STORMS PASS.

A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM FOR MUCH OF CENTRAL AND
WESTERN NEBRASKA...AND )A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT OVERNIGHT FOR
THE EASTERN 1/3 OF THE STATE...SO KEEP ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER
AND TAKE SHELTER IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES.
