TXZ019>033-072300- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX 415 PM CDT SUN OCT 7 1990 ...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST TEXAS UNTIL 900 PM TONIGHT... THE WATCH AREA INCLUDES ALL OF THE COUNTIES ALONG AND NORTH OF A GRANBURY TO CARTHAGE LINE IN NORTH TEXAS. THIS AREA INCLUDES THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH METROPLEX AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES... AS WELL AS THE CITIES OF SHERMAN... PARIS...GREENVILLE...TYLER AND LONGVIEW. AT 410 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM NEAR CLARKSVILLE TO COOPER TO GREENVILLE TO DALLAS. ANOTHER STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS DEVELOPING JUST TO THE WEST OF EASTLAND. THE LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AROUND 20 MILES AN HOUR WHILE SOME OF THE INDIVIDUAL STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. PERSONS IN THE PATH OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE REMINDED THAT/ THEY ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS...DAMAGING SURFACE WINDS... DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING...AND LARGE HAIL. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER LAKE TAWAKONI. THE STORM WAS 10 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF GREENVILLE. THE STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT ABOUT 15 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR. THIS IS A DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY STRONG WINDS AND SOME HAIL. PERONS ON LAKE TAWAKONI SHOULD MOVE TO SAFETY IMMEDIATELY. STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.
