THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MACON GA HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  730 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN CENTRAL GEORGIA
 
   ...LAURENS COUNTY
 
AT 530 AM WEATHER RADAR SHOWED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUING ACROSS
NORTH LAURENS COUNTY AND THE CITY OF DUBLIN. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE
MOVING SLOWLY NORTH.
 
CITY POLICE IN DUBLIN REPORTED FLOODING OF STREETS AND LOW LYING AREAS
AROUND THE CITY. COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS
REPORTS OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS FLOODING COUNTY ROADS OVER THE
NORTH PART OF THE COUNTY.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  IT'S
IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS SHOULD
AVOID CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR CREEKS DURING THREATENING RAINS.
