RADAR INDICATES A POSSIBLE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM BETWEEN GIDDINGS AND
LAKE SUMMERVILLE MOVING TOWARDS THE NORTHEAST AT NEAR 15 MPH. THIS
STORM MAY ALSO CAUSE VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME
ALONG WITH STRONG GUSTY WINDS.
THIS STORM WILL BE MOVING INTO THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF BURLESON COUNTY

TXZ036-037-250000- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN TX 605 PM CDT TUE APR 24 1990 A THUNDERSTORM PASSED OVER THE CITY OF AUSTIN BETWEEN 5 AND 6 PM CAUSING A NARROW BAND OF PEA TO MARBLE SIZE HAIL AND BRIEF HEAVY RAIN FROM DOWNTOWM ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF AUSTIN NEAR MOPAC AND AS FAR NORTH AS PFLUGERVILLE AND GEORGETOWN. NO DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED. RAINFALL AMOUNTS WERE BETWEEN ONE TENTH TO ONE THIRD OF AN INCH. SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE OVER AN AREA BOUNDED BY TEMPLE TO THE NORTH MARBLE FALLS TO THE WEST AND LOCKHART TO THE SOUTH. THIS AREA EXTENDS EASTWARD TO NEAR HUNTSVILLE. MOVEMENT IS TOWARDS THE NORTHEAST AT NEAR 25 MPH. A FEW OF THE THUNDERSTORM0S MAY CAUSE MINOR FLOODING FROM HEAVY RAINS ALONG WITH SMALL HAIL FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
