THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 430 PM FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY IN

SOUTHCENTRAL TEXAS...VAL VERDE

AT 1220 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN FROM 10
MILES NORTHWEST TO 30 MILES NORTHWEST OF DEL RIO AND FROM 30 MILES
NORTH OF DEL RIO NORTHWARD TO THE VAL VERDE COUNTY LINE. THESE STORMS
WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 10 MPH.

HIGHWAYS 163...189...FM 1024...AND 277 FROM DEL RIO NORTH TO SONORA
ARE CLOSED. THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT REPORTED THREE FEET OF WATER OVER
THE ROAD IN THE LOMA ALTA AREA.

CAMPERS AND CANOISTS ALONG THE DEVILS AND DRY DEVILS RIVERS SHOULD
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROAD. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON
FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.

REMEMBER...A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR ALREADY
OCCURRING.
