AT 530 PM MDT STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED OVER FAR WEST TEXAS AND SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO FROM NORTH OF EL PASO NEAR NEWMAN TEXAS EASTWARD TO GUADALUPE PASS TEXAS. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING SOUTHWEST AT 15 MPH. PERSONS IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR STRONG GUSTY WINDS...HEAVY RAIN...DEADLY LIGHTING...AND SMALL HAIL FOR THE NEXT 2 HOURS. IN ADDITION LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS MAY PRODUCE TEMPORARY FLOODING OF STREETS INTERSECTIONS AND UNDERPASSES. AT 720 PM MDT WEATHER RADAR INDICATED STONG THUNDERSTORMS THROUGHT THE EL PASO AREA EXTENDING AS FAR NORTH AS LAS CRUCES NEW MEXICO. UNOFFICIAL REPORTS HAVE WINDS GUSTING AS HIGH AS 50 MPH AT KVIA STUDIOS IN CENTRAL EL PASO AND 1.25 INCHES OF RAIN IN 30 MINUTES BY AN OBSERVER IN THE NORTHEAST PART OF THE CITY. BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR POSSIBLE FLASH FLOODING...STRONG GUSTY WINDS...AND DEADLY LIGHTING. THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING TO THE SOUTHWEST AND ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 2 TO 3 HOURS.
