SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1030 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS
...NORTHERN FORD...NORTHERN GRAY...WESTERN HODGEMAN
AT 946 PM CDT A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS 10 MILES WEST OF DODGE CITY
TO GARDEN CITY. MOVING EAST 25 MPH AND WILL MOVE INTO DODGE
CITY BY 10 PM AND WAS OCCURRING OVER OPEN COUNTRY IN HODGEMAN
COUNTY.
WINDS UP TO 65 MPH HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITH THUNDERSTORM AND SEVERAL
FUNNELS THE PA9ST HOUR.
A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER

TTAAKS KDDC 112358 KSZ003-120200 SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 650 PM CDT FRI MAY 11 1990 STRONG THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS SOUTH OF GARDEN CITY AT 650 PM RADAR INDICATED A STORNG THUNDERSTORM 10 MILES SOUTH OF GARDEN CITY KANSAS. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 15 MILES AN HOUR. THE STRONGEST PART OF THIS STORM WILL MOST LIKELY PASS OVER THE GARDEN CITY AIRPORT BY 710 PM. HEAVY RAIN AND SMALL HAIL IS LIKELY WITH THIS STORM AS WELL AS BRIEF VERY STRONG WINDS. ALL OF WESTERN KANSAS IS IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 10 PM CDT. TTAAKS KDDC 120043 KSZ003-120200 SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 742 PM CDT FRI MAY 11 1990 ...THUNDERSTORMS ABOUT TO CROSS INTO SOUTHWEST KANSAS FROM COLORADO... AT 740 PM RADAR INDICATED A STRONG THUNDERSTORM 10 MILES NORTHEAST OF GARDEN CITY IN THE FINNEY COUNTY PANHANDLE. THIS STORM DROPPED PEA SIZE HAIL AND HEAVY RAIN AS IT MOVED OVER THE GARDEN CITY AIRPORT. THE STORM WILL PASS THROUGH THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF HODGEMAN COUNTY BY 8 PM AS IT MOVES NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH. LESSER SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING INTO KANSAS FROM COLORADO. THIS AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL CROSS THE COLORADO BORDER BETWEEN TRIBUNE AND JOHNSON KANSAS BY 8 PM.
