WYZ016-052045- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHEYENNE WY 210 PM MDT THU JUL 5 1990 A FEW STRONG STORMS WERE DEVELOPING IN SOUTH CENTRAL WYOMING AT 2 PM. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS LOCATED IN FAR NORTHEAST CARBON COUNTY ABOUT 10 MILES WEST OF SHIRLEY BASIN...SOME 40 MILES SOUTH OF CASPER. THIS STORM HAS NOT MOVED VERY MUCH IN THE LAST HOUR...AS IT HAS DRIFTED NORTHEAST NEAR STATE HIGHWAY 77. THE STORM WAS LIKELY PRODUCING SMALL HAIL AND HEAVY RAIN. OTHER WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING IN EASTERN CARBON AND WESTERN ALBANY COUNTIES AT 2 PM. THESE STORMS WERE ALSO TENDING TO DRIFT NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 10 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR. HEAVY RAIN...SMALL HAIL...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE THE MAIN THREATS FROM THESE THUNDERSTORMS. LOCAL FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND NORMALLY DRY WASHES COULD OCCUR OVER CARBON AND ALBANY COUNTIES THE REST OF THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
