AT 8PM EDT RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER EASTERN
GUERSEY COUNTY MOVIG EAST AT 45 MPH.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55
MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.

OHZALL-030100- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CLEVELAND OH 715 PM EDT WED JUN 6 1990 SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BLOSSOMED OVER THE BUCKEYE STATE DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING HOURS. AT 7 PM THE HEAVIEST THUNDERSTORMS IN NORTHERN OHIO WERE LOCATED JUST SOUTHWEST OF MEDINA... IN A THIN BAND FROM AKRON TO NEAR WOOSTER AND NEAR MANSFIELD. THESE STORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS... BRIEF HEAVY RAIN AND POSSIBLY SOME SMALL HAIL. OUTSIDE THE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN OTHER RAINSHOWERS AND ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE SCATTERED OVER NORTHERN OHIO GENERALLY SOUTH OF LAKE ERIE AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM YOUNGSTOWN TO MANSFIELD. ALL OF THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 50 MILES AN HOUR. WIDESPREAD RAIN PREVAILED ACROSS WESTERN OHIO. THE COLUMBUS AREA WAS ALSO PLAGUED BY THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN AROUND 7 PM. WIND DAMAGE WAS REPORTED EARLIER THIS EVENING FROM STORMS MOVGING THROUGH THE SOUTHERN COUNTIES OF THE STATE. IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES REMEMBER TO SEEK SHELTER. HEATHFIELD

AT 750 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS FROM AKRON TO COLUMBIANA. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 45 MPH AND WILL MOVE INTO LAWRENCE COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA BY 8 PM. BRIEF HEAVY RAIN... STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND SMALL HAIL ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE PASSAGE OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS. PEOPLE IN NORTHEAST OHIO AND NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE SHELTER IF THREATENING WEATHER DEVELOPS. APFEL
