THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HARTFORD HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  400 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN NORTH EASTERN CONNECTICUT

   ...WINDHAM COUNTY

THIS FLOOD WARNING IS FOR SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS AND SIGNIFICANT URBAN
FLOODING.  HEAVY RAINS OF 3 TO 4 INCHES HAVE FALLEN ACROSS MIDDLESEX
COUNTY AND NORTHWESTERN NEW LONDON COUNTY SINCE 8PM AND THIS HEAVY RAIN
SHIELD CONTINUES TO MOVE NORTHEAST INTO WINDHAM COUNTY.

MEANWHILE...THE HEAVY RAIN HAS ABATED FOR MOST OF HARTFORD AND TOLLAND
COUNTIES OF CONNECTICUT WITH NO REPORTS OF STREAM FLOODING.  THEREFORE
THE FLOOD WARNING FOR SOUTHEASTERN HARTFORD COUNTY AND SOUTHERN TOLLAND
COUNTY IS NOW CANCELLED.

FOR RESIDENTS OF WINDHAM COUNTY...BE AWARE OF SMALL STREAMS AND RIVERS
IN YOUR VICINITY THAT ARE PRONED TO FLOODING IN HEAVY RAIN EVENTS.  IF
YOU WITNESS RISING WATER ABOVE STREAM BANKS...MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

MOTORISTS DO NOT DRIVE A VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY AND MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
