THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 630 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTY
IN THE NORTH CENTRAL PART OF NORTH DAKOTA
NORTHEAST MCHENRY
AT 650 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 10 MILES
NORTH OF GRANVILLE...OR 30 MILES NORTHEAST OF MINOT. THIS STORM WAS
MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH AND WAS PRODUCING LARGE HAIL.
AS THIS STORM IS NOT FAST MOVING...HEAVY RAIN CAN CAUSE FLOODING
OF LOW LYING AREAS.
SOME OF THE CITIES IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM ARE UPHAM A/ND BANTRY.
IF YOU ARE IN AN AREA THREATENED BY THE STORM...GO TO A REINFORCED

NDZ005-006-009-010-230000- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BISMARCK ND 530 PM CDT WED AUG 22 1990 ...INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS ARE DEVELOPING IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH... ...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT FOR A LARGE PART OF CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA... AT 525 PM CDT INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MINOT...AND ABOUT 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BOTTINEAU. IN ADDITON TO HEAVY RAINS AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY PRODUCE SMALL HAIL AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR AND BY 630 PM CDT THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE NEAR MINOT...AND NEAR BOTTINEAU. OTHER DEVELOPING T HUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED 35 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MINOT AND 30 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BISMARCK. IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY. REMEMBER LIGTNING CAN BE DEADLY. JOBE
