000 TTAA00 KALB 271748 SVRALB NYC071-271815- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY 147 PM EDT MON AUG 27 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY NY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 215 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...... IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK ...SOUTHERN ORANGE COUNTY AT 145 PM RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IN ORANGE COUNTY NEAR THE TOWN OF FLORIDA. THAT/S ABOUT 15 MILES SOUTHWEST OF NEWBURGH. THE STORM WAS MOVING TOWARD THE SOUTHEAST AT 30 MPH AND WILL BE NEAR GREENWOOD LAKE ABOUT 210 PM. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A STRONG BUILDING. DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. STAY INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.

NYZ008-010>013-019>020-271815- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY 120 PM MON AUG 27 1990 SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING THROUGH THE HUDSON AND CHAMPLAIN VALLEYS. AT 115 PM A BAND OF SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNERSTORMS WAS FROM BURLINGTON VERMONT...SOUTH TO THE CAPITAL DISTRICT...AND THEN ALONG THE HUDSON RIVER INTO ORANGE COUNTY. THE THUNDERTORMS WERE QUITE ISOLATED...BUT ONE STORM NEAR MIDDLETOWN IN ORANGE COUNTY WAS DUMPING VERY HEAVY RAIN AND THERE WAS FREQUENT LIGHTNING. THE STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30 MPH AND WILL BE NEAR WEST POINT ABOUT 200 PM. IF YOU/RE IN ITS PATH WATCH FOR VERY HEAVY RAIN...POOR VISIBILITY AND LIGHTNING. <
