000 TTAA00 KALB 262052 SVRALB NYC001-262145- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY 450 PM EDT THU APR 26 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY NY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 545 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...... IN EAST NEW YORK ...ALBANY COUNTY A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED FROM NEAR COHOES TO WATERVALIET IN NORTHEAST ALBANY COUNTY. IT WAS MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST ABOUT 25 MPH. IT/LL BE FROM NEAR TROY TO MENANDS BY 500 PM. THIS STORM HAS ALREADY PRODUCED LARGE HAIL AND DOWNED MANY TREES AND POWER LINES. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. DON'T USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS. IT/LL LIKELY DRIFT SOUTHEAST BETWEEN COHOES AND HOOSICK FALLS BETWEEN 400 PM AND 430 PM THIS AFTERNOON. YOU CAN EXPECT HEAVY DOWNPOURS...SYOME BRIEF STRONG WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND MAYBE EVEN SOME HAIL. KANE
