THE FLOOD WARNING IS FOR ROAD...URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING.
2 INCHES OF RAIN FELL ACROSS THESE COUNTIES EARLY TODAY. SINCE 4PM
A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS WAS BEEN FROM PUTNAM COUNTACROSS SOUTHEAST DUTCHESS COUNTY.
 
RAINFALL OF 2 TO 4 INCHES HAS FALLEN THIS AFTERNOON IN PARTS OF THESE
COUNTIES. LAW ENFORECEMENT AGENCIES HAVE REPORTED FLOODED ROADS ALSO.
THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO REFORM IN THE SOUTHWEST
CORNER OF PUTNAM COUNTY AND MOVE NORTHEAST ACROSS THE COUNTY AND INTO
DUTHCESS COUNTY. EVEN IF THESE DOWNPOURS DIMINISH...ANOTHER AREA OF
HEAVY RAIN WAS MOVING NORTHEAST FROM EASTERN PENNSYVANIA...AND COULD
REACH PUTNAM AND DUTHCESS COUNTIES BY 1 OR 2AM.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
