SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...CORRECTION FOR TIME
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RICHMOND VA
400 PM EDT SUN JUL 1 1990

 SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IN EFFECT FOR MOST OF VIRGINIA UNTIL
9PM EDT THIS SUNDAY EVENING.

AT 355 PM EDT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR DETECTED AN AREA
OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WESTERN PORTION OF GOOCHLAND COUNTY EXTENDING
EAST ACROSS THE SOUTHERN TIP OF LOUISA COUNTY AND THE SOUTHWEST PORTION
OF HANOVER COUNTY. THE STRONGEST OF THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED OVER
THE SOUTHWEST PORTION OF HANOVER COUNTY. THESE STORMS ARE MOVING TO THE
SOUTHEAST AROUND 30 MPH. THE CURRENT MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS WILL
CARRY THEM INTO THE VICINITY OF KINGS DOMINION SHORTLY. ANOTHER STORM
WAS LOCATED OVER THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF HIGHLAND COUNTY.

THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...FREQUENT DEADLY
LIGHTNING STRIKES AND VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS. SOME OF THE STORMS MAY BE
CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HAIL.{{}GCW|
