NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON AZ
515 PM MST THU OCT 5 1989

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN TUCSON HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD
WARNING UNTIL 800 PM MST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF

SOUTHEAST ARIZONA..COCHISE

AT 510 PM THE SHERIFFS OFFICE IN WILLCOX REPORTED FLOODING IN THE
WILCOX AREA.  RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINS THAT OCCURED LAST NIGHT AND THIS
MORNING IN THE PINALINO AND WINCHESTER MOUNTAINS HAS FLOWED INTO THE
SULFUR SPRINGS VALLEY AND IS MOVING TOWARD THE WILLCOX PLAYA.

THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS ROAD CLOSURES INCLUDING FORT GRANT ROAD AND
BUSINESS ROUTE I-10 INTO WILLCOX.  EXTENSIVE STREET FLOODING AND SOME
FLOODING OF HOMES AND BUSINESSES IN THE WILLCOX AREA IS OCCURING.

A FLASH FLOOD WARMING MEANS FLOODING HAS ALREADY OCCURRED OR IS
IMMINENT.  PEOPLE IN THE AFFECTED AREA SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
FLOODING AND MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
