THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  600 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

IN SOUTH CENTRAL UTAH
          ...WESTERN GARFIELD  (CORRECTION FOR WESTERN GARFIELD)
IN SOUTHWEST UTAH
          ...EASTERN IRON      (CORRECTION FOR EASTERN IRON)

THE UTAH HIGHWAY PATROL AT CEDAR CITY REPORTS THAT VERY HEAVY RAIN IS
OCCURRING OVER THE CEDAR CITY...CEDAR BREAKS AREA. WATER IS REPORTED
RISING RAPIDLY IN CEDAR CANYON...WITH ROCKS AND DEBRIS BEING WASHED
ACROSS PORTIONS OF HIGHWAY 14. THE RISING WATERS ARE REPORTED TO BE
MOVING DOWN CEDAR CANYON.   AROUND .70 INCHES OF RAIN WAS REPORTED AT

DUCK CREEK IN LESS THAN AN HOUR.

VERY HEAVY RAIN IS NOW OCCURRING IN THER CEDAR CITY AREA AND OVER THE
MOUNTAINS TO THE EAST.  ADDITIONAL FLOODING OF STREAMS AND NORMALLY
DRY WASHES IS LIKELY FOR THE NEXT 1 TO 2 HOURS IN EASTERN IRON AND
WESTERN GARFIELD AS VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO MOVE
NORTHWARD THROUGH THE AREA.


DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.

REPEATING...THIS WARNING IS FOR EASTERN IRON AND WESTERN GARFIELD
COUNTIES.
