THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RENO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 PM PDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN WEST NEVADA
          ...EASTERN CHURCHILL
 
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS MOVING INTO EASTERN CHURCHILL COUNTY HAVE CAUSED
CAUSED FLASH FLOODING IN THE AREA ABOUT 60 TO 70 MILES EAST OF FALLON
ON HIGHWAY 50. A WEATHER SERVICE SEVERE WEATHER SPOTTER SAID A CULVERT
BRIDGE WAS WASHING OUT BETWEEN 800 AND 830 THIS EVENING DUE TO HEAVY
RAIN. SHE ALSO SAID THAT 2 INCHES OF MARBLE SIZED HAIL HAD FALLEN NEAR
EAST GATE IN CHURCHILL COUNTY.
 
MOTORISTS ARE AMONG THE LEADING FATALITIES IN FLASH FLOODS. WASHOUTS
AND FLOODED ROADWAYS CAN PUT YOU SUDDENLY INTO LIFE THREATENING
SITUATIONS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES..DIPS..OR LOW SPOTS IF
WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. IT MAY NOT BE INTACT UNDER THE WATER.
ABANDON YOUR CAR IMMEDIATELY IF IT BECOMES STUCK OR STALLS.
