SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...

A VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED NEAR VINELAND MOVING EAST AT 35
MPH. THERE HAS BEEN REPORTS OF 48 MILE AN HOUR GUST WITH THIS STORM.
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND

AT 1030 AM...HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING THROUGH THE PHILADELPHIA METROPOLITAN AREA. THESE THUNDERSTORMS CONTAINED VERY HEAVY RAIN AND GUSTY WINDS. AS THESE THUNDERSTORMS MOVE THROUGH FLOODING IS LIKELY IN AREAS OF POOR DRAINAGE AND WIND GUSTS OF 25 TO 45 MPH ARE POSSIBLE. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH AND WILL MOVE INTO SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY BY 1130 AM. ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED SOUTHWEST INTO MARYLAND AND WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD THROUGH THE PHILADELPHIA METROPOLITAN AREA INTO EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. RNS

WINDS HAVE REACHED 48MPH 8 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MILLVILLE AIRPORT IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY SOUTH JERSEY. THESE AND OTHER STRONG STORMS WERE LINED UP FROM JUST SOUTH OF NEW YORK HARBOR THROUGH MCGUIRE AFB AND ACROSS THE DELAWARE BAY TO DOVER DELAWARE. THE REPORTS OF LIGHTNING ARE MORE FREQUENT THIS HOUR. THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN WHICH HAS CAUSED STREET FLOODING IN NEW JERSEY THIS HOUR. THESE THUNDERTORMS WILL CLEAR THE COAST IN ABOUT AN HOUR OR HOUR AND A HALF.
