NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PITTSBURGH PA
545 PM EDT WED MAY 10 1989

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING
UNTIL 8 AM THURSDAY FOR THESE COUNTIES IN

WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA...FAYETTE AND WESTMORELAND.

AT 540 PM A SKYWARN OBSERVER REPORTED FLOODING IN TWO PLACES ALONG
JACOBS CREEK...WHICH FORMS THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN FAYETTE AND
WESTMORELAND COUNTIES. FLOODING WAS REPORTED AT IRON BRIDGE...SOUTH OF
MT PLEASANT. WATER IS ALSO COVERING DEXTER ROAD NEAR SCOTTDALE.

AS MUCH AS 1.5 INCHES OF RAIN FELL IN THE LAST 24 HOURS. MORE RAIN IS
EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT 2 DAYS. JACOBS CREEK WILL CONTINUE TO RISE AND
CAUSE ADDITIONAL FLOODING BEFORE MORNING.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR IN PROGRESS.
IF YOU GET ANY INDICATION THAT FLOOD WATERS ARE APPROACHING..MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED AREAS.
