THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  245 AM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
          ...LAWRENCE...WAYNE
 
THE SHERRIFF OFFICE IN BOTH WAYNE AND LAWRENCE COUNTIES REPORT
WATER PROBLEMS IN LOW LYING AREAS. LAWRENCE COUNTY REPORTS ALL
LOW WATER BRIDGES UNDERWATER AT THIS TIME.  THESE BRIDGES ARE
ON SMALL RURAL ROADS FOR THE MOST PART.
 
WAYNE COUNTY REPORTS THAT HIGHWAY 13 BETWEEN COLLINWOOD AND
THE ALABAMA STATE LINE IS UNDER A FOOT OF WATER AND WATER IS
RISING.
 
WITH THE RAINFALL AMOUNTS ALREADY RECEIVED AND THE ADDITIONAL
RAIN THAT IS FORECAST FLOODING WILL BE A PROBLEM FOR THE
REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
