SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORFOLK NE 410 PM CDT WED JUN 07 1989 ...THUNDERSTORMS INCREASE IN NUMBER OVER NORTHEAST NEBRASKA... AT 405 PM CDT THUNDERSTORMS WERE SCATTERED ACROSS PARTS OF NORTHEAST NEBRASKA. ONE AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS CENTERED ALONG A LINE FROM NEAR SIOUX CITY...THROUGH THE NORFOLK AREA...TO ABOUT 50 MILES SOUTHWEST OF NORFOLK. ANOTHER AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED FROM 25 MILES EAST OF NORFOLK TO NEAR COLUMBUS. THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH. MOST OF THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE PRODUCING ONLY LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN BUT THE HEAVIER OF THE STORMS COULD PRODUCE SOME SMALL HAIL AND BRIEF HEAVY RAIN. BOWMAN
