TORNADO WARNING AND
SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  900 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN NORTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA
          ...EASTERN DARE
 
AND ADJOINING PAMLICO SOUND WATERS BETWEEN HATTERAS AND AVON.
 
NUMEROUS WATERSPOUTS WERE DEVELOPING IN THE PAMLICO SOUND BETWEEN
HATTERAS VILLIAGE AND AVON. WATERSPOUTS CAN...AND OFTEN DO...MOVE
ONSHORE AND CAUSE CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE.
 
A WATERSPOUT JUST OFF BUXTON...MOVED ACROSS THE ISLAND WAS WAS NOW
OVER THE OCEAN OFF BUXTON. THE STORM LIFTED AS IT CROSSED THE ISLAND.
PEOPLE IN THE VILLIAGES OF HATTERAS...FRISCO...BUXTON...AND AVON
SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PROTECTIVE ACTION IF WATERSPOUTS ARE SIGHTED.
 
 
IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER IN A NEARBY REINFORCED
BUILDING.  AS A LAST RESORT...SEEK SHELTER IN A CULVERT...DITCH
OR LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.
