FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA
...SOUTHEASTERN BROWARD...NORTHEASTERN DADE
AND ADJOINING COASTAL WATERS BETWEEN HALLENDALE BEACH AND
VIRGINIA KEY.
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED OVER HOLLYWOOD AT 320 PM EDT.
IT IS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH. WIND GUSTS TO 55 MPH AND HAIL

SPECIAL WEATHER AND MARINE WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL 315 PM EDT FRI JUN 30 1989 SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS THAT HAVE BEEN BUILDING OVER THE INTERIOR OF SOUTH FLORIDA ARE NOW MOVING SOUTHEASTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH INTO THE EASTERN PORTIONS OF BROWARD AND DADE COUNTIES. VERY HEAVY RAINS THAT WILL CAUSE LOCALIZED STREET FLOODING CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS. IN ADDITION...FREQUENT DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THESE THUNDER STORMS AS THEY PASS OVER THE METROPOLITAN AREAS AND OUT INTO THE COASTAL WATERS. RESIDENTS OF SOUTHEAST FLORIDA AND MARINERS IN THE COASTAL WATERS OF BROWARD AND DADE COUNTIES SHOULD BE ALERT FOR THIS THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WHICH HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR PRODUCING SEVERE WEATHER DURING THE NEXT TWO TO THREE HOURS.
