THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  500 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA
          ...EASTERN BROWARD  AND ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS
 
AT 4 PM A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM HAD DEVELOPED OVER NORTHERN FORT
LAUDERDALE...AND RADAR INDICATED THAT IT WAS DEVELOPING SOUTHWARD....
OVER MOST OF THE FORT LAUDERDALE AREA...AND ADJACENT PORTIONS OF
EASTERN BROWARD COUNTY.
 
THIS STORM HAS PRODUCED WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 50 MPH AND WILL
POSE A THREAT OF ADDITIONAL DAMAGING WIND GUSTS...ALONG WITH
VERY HEAVY RAIN...AND LIGHTNING.
 
 
SEEK SHELTER FROM THIS THUNDERSTORM IN A STRONG BUILDING. DAMAGING
WIND..HAIL..VERY HEAVY RAIN..AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE
IN THIS THUNDERSTORM. DO NOT USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES
AND STAY INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.
