FLASH FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORT ARTHUR TX
955 PM CDT SAT JUL 1 1989

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
UNTIL 2 AM CDT SUNDAY MOTNING FOR PERSONS IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES
OF

TEXAS... SOUTHERN ANGELINA AND NORTHERN TYLER.

AT 930 PM CDT THE PUBLIC REPORTED RAINFALL IN EXCESS OF FOUR INCHES 
IN JUST OVER ONE HOUR ALONG SAM RAYBURN LAKE.

AT 945 PM A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING THIS RAIN WAS LOCATED 
ALONG THE ANGELINA AND TYLER COUNTY LINE DRIFTING SOUTH.  THE HEAVY 
RAINFALL AND SLOW MOVEMENT WILL PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING IN THE WARNED
AREA AND ALONG STREAMS AND RIVERS.

ALSO...SEVERE FLOODING IS EXPECTED ALONG THE NECHES RIVER BELOW
DAM B AS ALL GATES HAVE BEEN OPENED TO KEEP WATER FROM TOPPING THE
DAM.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION...PERSONS IN THESE AREAS 
SHOULD MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND...NOW!!!
