THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 215 PM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE SOUTHEAST PART OF KENTUCKY
      MAGOFFIN...MORGAN

RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF THREE INCHES OVER PARTS OF MAGOFFIN
AND MORGAN COUNTIES DURING THE PAST 12 HOURS HAVE CAUSED MANY
CREEKS AND STREAMS TO RISE TO NEAR BANKFULL. CANEY CREEK IN MORGAN
COUNTY IS ALREADY OVER HIGHWAY 191. BETWEEN WEST LIBERTY AND
AND SALYERSVILLE THE LICKING RIVER IS AT BANKFULL AND WILL SOON
BE OVER PARTS OF US 460.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADS. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES..DIPS OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE
ROAD. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM..EVEN A SMALL ONE..ON
FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER..MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
