THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 AM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
...WESTERN HINDS...SOUTHERN YAZOO
AT 803 AM RADAR INDICATED A SMALL CLUSTER OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN
WESTERN WARREN COUNTY. THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 45
MILES AND HOUR.
WIND DAMAGE HAS ALREADY BEEN REPORTED IN WARREN COUNTY WITH THIS CLUSTEROF THUNDERSTORMS.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE
HA.IL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. MOVE TO AN
INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES NORTHWEST OF VICKSBURG TO KOSCIUSKO TO
TUPELO LINE TODAY AND TONIGHT...
AT 730 AM...A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS EMBEDDED IN A LARGE AREA OF
RAIN THAT COVERED THE WESTERN THIRD OF MISSISSIPPI AND EXTENDED INTO
ARKANSAS AND LOUISIANA.
THE LEADING EDGE OF THE RAIN AREA AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS FROM GREENWOOD
TO YAZOO CITY TO UTICA TO CENTREVILLE AND SPREADING EAST AT 35 MPH.
THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN A 15 MILE WIDE LINE FROM GREENVILLE
TO VICKSBURG TO JUST EAST OF NATCHEZ AND SOUTHWARD. THIS LINE CONTAINS
TORRENTIAL RAINS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND GUSTY WINDS.
A LITTLE WEAKENING OF THE STRONGER STORMS WAS NOTED IN THE PAST HOUR.
