NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN
550 PM EST SAT AUG 5 1989

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH CONTINUES IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL
AND SOUTHERN INDIANA UNTIL 900 PM EST.

AT 545 PM EST THERE WERE WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS OVER PARTS OF
WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL INDIANA. A VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORM
WAS 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF BEDFORD. THIS STORM WAS LIKELY PRODUCING
TORRENTIAL RAIN...STRONG GUSwTY WINDS AND SMALL HAIL.

OTHER THUNDERSTORMS WERE 5 MILES NORTH OF BLOOMINGTON...JUST WEST OF
SPENCER AND NEAR SULLIVAN. THUNDERSTORMS WERE ALSO IN EXTREME SOUTHEAST
INDIANA FROM CROTHERSVILLE TO MADISON.
