FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 PM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN CENTRAL INDIANA
          ...SOUTHERN CLINTON
 
AT 1045 AM EST VERY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUED TO FALL SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST
OF LAFAYETTE AND OVER SOUTHERN CLINTON COUNTY. RAINFALL MAY ACCUMULATE
OVER THREE INCHES IN ONLY A SHORT TIME RESULTING IN FLOODED ROADS AND
BASEMENTS.
 
REMEMBER A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS IMMINENT. BE PREPARED
FOR FLOODED INTERSECTIONS AND DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROADS IF
UNCERTAIN OF THE DEPTH OF THE WATER.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN
950 AM EST MON AUG 28 1989

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS IN NORTHWEST AND WEST CENTRAL INDIANA WERE
DUMPING HEAVY RAINS.

A GROWING AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING ACROSS
RENNSELAER...MONTICELLO...SOUTH OF LAFAYETTE...OVER FRANKFORT
AND VEEDERSBURG. DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAINS CAN
BE EXPECTED WITH THESE STORMS.

AT 949 AM EST THE FOUNTAIN COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTED BLINDING RAINS
IN COVINGTON. THIS RAIN WILL MOVE PARALLEL ACROSS INTERSTATE 74 AND
RESULT IN DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.

THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AND MAY PRODUCE STREET FLOODING IN SOUTHERN
TIPPECANOE...CLINTON AND FOUNTAIN COUNTIES. RvEPORT FLOODING TO THE
POLICE FOR RELAY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
