THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 815 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE NORTHWEST PART OF KANSAS
      SHERMAN

AT 7PM MDT RADAR INDICATES A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH THE
POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE A TORNADO. THE STORM COMPLEX EXTENDS
FROM JUST EAST OF GOODLAND WEST TO JUST WEST OF GOODLAND.
THIS STORM COMPLEX IS MOVING SOUTH 20 MPH. A SECOND STORM
IS 15 MILES SOUTHWEST OF GOODLAND ALONG THE STATE LINE AND
IS MOVING NORTHEAST 20 MPH. IF THESE STORMS MERGE IN SHERMAN
COUNTY THERE IS THE POTENTIAL OF TORNADOES DEVELOPING.

FIND SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. BASEMENTS OFFER BEST PROTECTION. SMALL
ROOMS NEAR THE CENTER OF HOMES AND BUILDING ARE ALSO FAIRLY SAFE.
MOBILE HOMES AND VEHICLES OFFER NO SHELTER..SO LEAVE _THEN. EVEN A
DITCH OR LOW PLACE IS SAFER THEN A MOBILE HOME OR CAR.

AT 510 PM CDT NO SEVERE WEATHER WAS OCCURRING IN KANSAS.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE IN NEBRASKA FROM STRATTON AND THE SWANSON
RESERVOIR NORTH AND NORTHEAST INTO SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA.

MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS IS SOUTHEAST 15 MPH.

THESE STORMS SHOULD MOVE INTO RAWLINS COUNTY...50 MILES NORTHEAST OF
GOODLAND BY 6PM CDT.
