AT 3 PM CDT A FUNNEL CLOUD WAS REPORTED JUST SOUTHWEST OF FULDA
MINNESOTA...55 MILES NORTHEAST OF SIOUX FALLS. THE FUNNEL CLOUD WAS
MOVING TO THE EAST SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SIOUX FALLS SD 250 PM CDT SUN JUL 30 1989 ...STONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA... AT 245 PM RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN AND HAIL OVER THE SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA COUNTY OF MURRAY. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN AN AREA FROM 40 MILES NORTHEAST OF SIOUX FALLS NEAR CHANDLER MINNESOTA TO 60 MILES NORRHEAST OF SIOUX FALLS NEAR DOVRAY MINNESOTA. AT 240 PM CDT PEA SIZE HAIL AND HEAVY RAIN WAS REPORTED IN THE DOVRAY AREA...WHILE LAKE WILSON AND CHANDLER REPORTED VERY HEAVY RAIN. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST SOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH. PEOPLE THROUGH SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA...ESPECIALLY IN THE TOWN OF CHANDLER6 ...WILMONT...FULDA...WORTHINGTON..LAKEFIELD...HERON LAKE AND WESTBROOK SHOULD BE ALERT UNTIL 430 PM CDT. BEHREND
