SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT QND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FARGO ND 625 PM CDT WED JUL 5 1989 ...THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING RAPIDLY OVER NORTHWEST MINNESOTA... AT 625 PM AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED OVER THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF BELTRAMI COUNTY OF NORTHWEST MINNESOTA..30 MILES NORTHEAST OF THIEF RIVER FALLS MINNESOTA. THIS THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVEING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR AND COULD PRODUCE BRIEF HEAVY RAIN..HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS. THIS THUNDERSTORM WILL PASS INTO LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY BY 7 PM. SEVERAL OTHER INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED OVER TRAIL COUNTY OF NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA AND SOUTHWEST POLK COUNTY OF NORTHWEST MINNESOTA AND WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL BE IN THE CROOKSTON MINNESOTA AREA BY 645 PM. THESE THUNDERSTORMS COULD ALSO PRODUCE HEAVY RAIN..HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS. OTHER THUNDERSTORMS AND RAIN SHOWERS CONTINUED OVER NORTHWEST MINNESOTA. PERSONS NEAR THESE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD REMAIN ALERT FOR RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND BE PREPARTED TO SEEK SHELTER IF NECESSARY. PLEASE STAY TUNED TO YOUR LOCAL RADIO AND TV STATIONS AS WELL AS NOAA WEATHER RADIO FOR LATEST INFORMATION ON THESE INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS. ANDERSEN
