SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DETROIT MI 1245 PM EDT FRI JUNE 9 1989 AT 1225 PM...AN AREA OF SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN WAS INDICATED IN NORTHERN LENAWEE COUNTY 15 MILES SOUTHWEST OF ANN ARBOR AND WAS MOVING TOWARDS ANN ARBOR IN WASHTENAW COUNTY. AN AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS AND RAIN SHOWERS CONTINUED FROM NEAR FLINT TO SAGINAW BAY AND EXTENDED INTO SOUTHERN LAKE HURON. AN AREA OF NUMEROUS xLIGHT RAIN WITH WITH SOME PATCHES OF RAIN CONTINUED OVER NORTHCENTRAL OHIO FROM SOUTH OF MANSFIELD OHIO ACROSS LAKE ERIE INTO SOUTHERN ONTARIO TO 40 MILES SOUTHWEST OF LONDON ONTARIO. CLEMENS. THESE STORMS WERE PART OF A LARGER AREA OF SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS... SOME PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN...THAT WAS OVER PARTS OF SOUTHEAST LOWER MICHIGAN...SOUTHERN ONTARIO AND NORTHWEST OHIO.
