SMALL STREAM AND URBAN FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
IN CONNECTICUT
...NORTHERN FAIRFIELD...SOUTHERN LITCHFIELD
AT 845 PM EDT THE STEELE BROOK AND TURKEY BROOK WERE OUT OF THEIR
BANKS IN THE OAKVILLE AND WATERTOWN AREAS. THUNDERSHOWERS DURING THE
PASTCOUPLE OF HOUR HAVE PRODUCED RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES.
OTHER SMALL RIVERS AND STEAMS MAY START TO FLOOD OVER SOUTHERN
LITCHFIELD COUNTY AND NORTHERN FAIRFIELD COUNT NEAR WATERBURY AS MORE
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS PASS THOUGH THAT AREA DURING THE NEXT FEW
HOURS. ALSO DURING THE NEXT FEA BAND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDER STORMS
EXTENDING FROM HARTFORD TO NEW YORK CITY

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT FOR NORTH CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WORCESTER MA 505 PM EDT MON AUG 14 1989 AT 5PM RADAR SHOWED TWO HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS IN NORTHERN FRANKLIN COUNTY OF MASSACHUSETTS..ONE ABOUT 5 MILES NORTH OF GREENFIELD AND THE OTHER NEAR NORTH ORANGE. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE DRIFITING SLOWLY TOWARD THE EAST. HEAVY RAIN AND FREQUENT LIGHTENING HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH THESE STORMS AND THEY MAY ALSO BE ACCOMPANIED BY tSMALL HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS. THE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD DISSAPATE DURING THE NEXT HOUR. KEHIR
