MONTGOMERY WEATHER RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS INCREASING IN INTENSITY
OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTH ALABAMA AT 4 PM CDT. SEVERAL OF THESE
THUNDERSTORMS WERE PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINS...DANGEROUS
LIGHTING...GUSTY WINDS...AND POSSIBLE HAIL. ALSO SINCE THE GROUND
IS ALREADY SOAKED FROM LAST WEEKS HEAVY RAINS LOCAL FLOODING CAN
BE EXPECTED IN LOW LYING AND FLOOD PRONE AREAS.

THE HEAVIEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE OVER AUTAUGA...ELMORE...COVINGTON...
CRENSHAW...COFFEE...PIKE...AND BARBOUR COUNTIES ALABAMA. ANOTHER
THUNDERSTORM WAS ALONG THE ALABAMA/FLORIDA STATE LINE AND WILL
BE MOVING INTO HOUSTON COUNTY SHORTLY. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE
MOVING TO THE EAST NORTHEAST AT 10 MILES AN HOUR..

A SEVERE THUNDERSTROM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT FOR THE
NORTHWEST CORNER OF ALABAMA. THIS WATCH DOES INCLUDE MARION COUNTY.

AT 512 PM CDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT CENTREVILLE INDICATED A SMALL BUT
STRONG THUNDERSTORM IN SHELBY COUNTY NEAR THE TOWNS OF WESTOVER AND
VINCENT MOVING TOWARDS TALLADEGA COUNTY. THIS STORM WILL BE ACCOMPANIED
BY HEAVY DOWNPOURS...GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING.

ELSEWHERE...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE WIDELY SCATTERED OVER THE
CENTRAL COUNTIES...MAINLY NORTH OF BIRMINGHAM...NORTHWEST OF TUSCALOOSA
...AND IN SOUTHERN MARENGO COUNTY.

SINCE THE AIR IS MOIST AND UNSTABLE...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
DEVELOP RAPIDLY. THEREFORE YOU NEED TO BE PREPARED TO SEEK SHELTER
INDOORS IF A THUNDERSTORM SHOULD FORM IN YOUR AREA.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTROM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT FOR THE
NORTHWEST CORNER OF ALABAMA. THIS WATCH DOES INCLUDE MARION COUNTY.

AT 610 PM CDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT CENTREVILLE INDICATED A
THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN NEAR TALLADEGA MOVING TO THE
NORTHEAST. THE TALLADEGA COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE REPORTED FREQUENT
LIGHTNING WITH THE STORM. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TOWARDS MOUNT CHEAHA
AND THE ANNISTON/OXFORD AREA.

ELSEWHERE...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE SCATTERED ALONG A LINE FROM
JASPER TO SPRINGVILLE...MOVING TOWARDS CULLMAN...ONEONTA AND GADSDEN.
OTHER SHOWERS AND STORMS WERE LOCATED OVER MARENGO COUNTY...MAINLY
NEAR LINDEN.

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS NOW OVER WESTERN TENNESSEE WILL BE AFFECTING THE
NORTHWEST COUNTIES WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS.
