THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AMARILLO HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1115 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN THE TEXAS PANHANDLE
          ...CASTRO
 
AT 1007 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN CASTRO COUNTY.
ONE WAS LOCATED ABOUT 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DIMMIT AND ANOTHER WAS
LOCATED AT HART..IN THE SOUTHEASTERN CORNER OF CASTRO COUNTY. THE
THUNDERSTORM LOCATED AT HART WAS PRODUCING GOLFBALL SIZE HAIL AT 1005
PM AS REPORTED BY THE CASTRO SHERIFFS OFFICE AND SHOULD ENTER WESTERN
SWISHER COUNTY WITHIN THE NEXT 30 MINUTES. THE MOVEMENT OF THESE
THUNDERSTORMS WAS NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.
 
IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A
STRONG BUILDING.  DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN...
AND DEADLY LI$GHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.
STAY INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.
