THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY NY  HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  1000 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK
          ...ULSTER
 
SHOWERS...SOME HEAVY...WERE OVER ULSTER COUNTY THIS MORNING. THE RAIN
WILL BE ENDING IN THE COUNTY BETWEEN 730 AM AND 830 AM. HOWEVER...UP
TO THREE AND ONE HALF INCHES HAS FALLEN IN THE COUNTY. STREAMS AND
CREEKS WILL CONTINUE TO RISE TIL ABOUT 10 AM.
 
THE ESOPUS CREEK WAS 12.5 FT AT 630 AM...UP A FOOT IN THE LAST TWO
HOURS.  FLOOD STAGE IS 11 FT.   THE CREEK WILL PROBABLY CREST NEAR
14 FEET AT MOUNT TREMPER LATER THIS MORNING.  THIS WILL PROBABLY
AFFECT SOME OF THE NEARBY ROADS.   ALSO...THE CREEK IS DANGEROUSLY
HIGH FOR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY.
 
THERE/S ALSO A GOOD POSSIBILITY THAT THE KAATERSKILL CREEK AND SAW
KILL MAY OVERFLOW AS WELL.
 
THIS WARNING EXTENDS THE PREVIOUS WARNING FOR ULSTER COUNTY.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
