SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON AZ 1255 PM MST WED AUG 24 1988 AT 1250 PM MST TUCSON WEATHER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS FORMING OVER SOUTHEASTERN PIMA AND MOST OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTIES. THESE STORMS ARE MOVING FROM THE SOUTHEAST AT 10 MPH. THESE STORMS HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR STRONG GUSTY WINDS...HEAVY RAINFALL ...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...AND HAIL. AS THE GROUND IS QUITE SATURATED FROM PREVIOUS RAIN FALL...THERE IS POSSIBILITY OF RAPIDLY RISING WATER IN LOCALLY FLOOD PRONE AREAS.
