SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 205 PM CDT THU JUN 9 1988 ...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST ALABAMA... INCLUDED IN THE WATCH ARE MONROE...CONECUH AND ESCAMBIA COUNTIES... AT 200 PM CDT MOBILE RADAR INDICATED RAPIDLY DEVELOPING THUNDERSTORMS IN A RANDOM PATTERN OVER SOUTHWEST ALABAMA AND SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI. THEY WERE MOVING TOWARD THE EAST-SOUTHEAST AT 30 MPH. SOME HAIL MAY BE FALLING FROM THE LARGER THUNDERSTORMS ALREADY. A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED 15 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF MONROEVILLE IN MONROE COUNTY.
