MISSISSIPPI. THE STORM IS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 1125 PM CST THU MAR 3 1988 ...TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 12 IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT... HOWEVER...AT 1115 PM MOBILE RADAR SHOWED SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS JUST INLAND FROM THE COAST THROUGHOUT SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI AND SOUTHWEST ALABAMA. THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE ON THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF A BROAD AREA OF RAIN COVERING MUCH OF SOUTHWEST ALABAMA AND THE SOUTHEAST HALF OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI. THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL ...STRONG GUSTY WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND POSSIBLY SOME SMALL HAIL DURING THE NEXT HOUR OR SO.
