FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  230 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI
          ...SOUTHERN MARSHALL...NORTHERN PANOLA...TATE
 
HEAVY RAINS HAVE FALLEN OVER NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI DURING THE MORNING.
REPORTS OF FLOODING HAVE BEEN RECEIVED FROM SENATOBIA...COUNTY BRIDGES
OUT...NINE INCHES OF RAIN SINCE MIDNIGHT REPORTED BY CLIFF MOORE OF
SENATOBIA...AND ROADS UNDER WATER.
 
THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE OVER NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI BUT HAVE BEEN
DECREASING DURING THE PAST HOUR. HOWEVER RAINFALL RUNOFF WILL CONTINUE
TO SWELL DRAINAGE DITCHES AND STREAMS FOR THE NEXT TWO TO THREE HOURS.
RAINFALL SHOULD BE ENDING DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON WITH ONLY
SCATTERED SHOWERS EXPECTED THEREAFTER.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
