SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA 633 AM CDT WED OCT 26 1988 ...THUNDERSTORMS MOVING ACROSS GRANT PARISH AND INTO LASALLE. AT 625 AM...THUNDERSTORMS WERE SHOWN FROM JUST NORTH OF MANY LOUISIANA THROUGH THE NATCHITOCHES AREA TO NORTHEASTERN GRANT PARISH. THESE WERE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH. THE STORM OVER NORTHEAST GRANT PARISH WILL MOVE INTO LASALLE PARISH WHILE THE ONES NEAR NATCHITOCHES WILL ENTER THE WEST PART OF GRANT PARISH. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...VERY HEAVY RAIN...AND POSSIBLY SMALL HAIL FROM THE PRESENT TIME TO 730 AM. THESE CONTINUED TO BE PART OF A LARGE MASS OF RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS NORTH OF A LINE FROM JUST NORTH OF NACOGDOCHES TEXAS TO MANY AND ALEXANDRIA LOUISIANA TO NEAR NATCHEZ MISSISSIPPI. WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS CONTINUED OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO FROM JUST OFF THE COAST NEAR HIGH ISLAND TEXAS TO 125 MILES SOUTH OF CAMERON LOUISIANA.
