A WEAK DISTURBANCE IN THE UPPER ATMOSPHERE JUST TO THE WEST OF
MISSISSIPPI IS COMBINING WITH ABUNDANT MOISTURE NEAR THE EARTH'S
SURFACE TO PRODUCE SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS CENTRAL
MISSISSIPPI THIS MORNING.  A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDS FROM
NORTH OF MERIDIAN THROUGH THE JACKSON AREA AND WESTWARD INTO
NORTHCENTRAL LOUISIANA.

PEA TO MARBLE SIZE HAIL HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH SOME OF THESE
THUNDERSTORMS...BUT HAS ONLY LASTED A MINUTE OR SO.

THESE THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE SCATTERED ACROSS CENTRAL
MISSISSIPPI FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS AS THE DISTURBANCE MOVES
CLOSER TO AND THEN ACROSS THE STATE.  SOME DECREASE IN ACTIVITY
SHOULD TAKE PLACE THIS AFTERNOON AFTER THE DISTURBANCE MOVES OUT
OF THE AREA.
