THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY EXTEND SOUTH- WARD AND CROSS THE UPPER HIGHLAND LAKES AND CENTRAL TEXAS HILL COUNTRY ...LATER TONIGHT. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN TX 910 PM CDT SUN APR 24 1988 ...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS 100 MILES NORTHWEST OF AUSTIN... AT 9 PM...RADAR SHOWED A SOLID LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS...20 MILES WIDE.. EXTENDING FROM BROWNWOOD TO JUST NORTH OF JUNCTION AND DEL RIO. THE LINE WAS MOVING TOWARDS THE SOUTHEAST AT NEAR 40 MPH. PERSONS IN CENTRAL TEXAS SHOULD PREPARE NOW FOR THE PASSAGE OF THIS LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS...WHICH COULD BRING DAMAGEING WINDS...LARGE HAIL AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. THE POSSIBILITY OF TORNADOES WILL ACCOMPANY SOME OF THESE STORMS. MANY COUNTIES TO THE WEST AND NORTH OF TRAVIS COUNTY ARE INCLUDED IN A TORNADO WATCH EFFECTIVE UNTIL 2 AM THIS MONDAY MORNING.
