AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED OVER SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA.  AT
332 PM A THIS THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED 10 MILES NORTHEAST OF LAMONI.
EXTREMELY HEAVY RAINFALL AND WINDS OF 30 TO 40 MILES AN HOUR CAN BE
EXPECTED FROM THIS STORM AS IT MOVES NORTHEAST AT 45 MILES AN HOUR.

A 20 MILE WIDE BAND OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WAS INDICATED FROM
SOUTHWEST INTO NORTH CENTRAL IOWA.  THIS BAND OF STORMS WAS LOCATED
FROM JUST SOUTH OF CRESTON...60 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DES MOINES TO
35 MILES WEST OF DES MOINES NEAR GUTHRIE CENTER TO FORT DODGE.  THESE
STORMS WILL ALSO PRODUCE VERY HEAVY RAINFALL AND 30 TO 40 MILE AN
HOUR WIND GUSTS AS THEY MOVE NORTHEAST AT 45 MILES AN HOUR.
OTHERWISE NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING OVER ALL
BUT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE STATE.  ALL OF THIS PRECIPITAION
WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 MILES AN HOUR.

AT 4 PM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT WATERLOO WAS SHOWING
A 100 MILE WIDE BAND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM THE MISSOURI
BORDER SOUTH OF DES MOINES TO THE MINNESOTA BORDER NORTH OF MASON
CITY.  ANOTHER AREA OF WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
WAS LOCATED IN A 100 MILE WIDE BAND FROM MASON CITY TO DUBUQUE.

THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 MILES AN
HOUR AND COULD PRODUCE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 58 MILES AN HOUR...LARGE...
HAIL AND POSSIBLE TORNADOES.

A SNOW ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR NORTHWEST IOWA TONIGHT.
TWO TO FOUR INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED TO ACCUMULATE BY MORNING
IN PARTS OF NORTHWEST IOWA INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING CITIES...SIOUX
CITY...STORM LAKE...SPENCER...ESTHERVILLE...CHEROKEE...AND ALGONA.

MOTORISTS IN OR TRAVELLING INTO NORTHWEST IOWA TONIGHT SHOULD
EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION AND USE THEIR WINTER DRIVING SKILLS.

RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW IN NORTHWEST IOWA EARLY TONIGHT.  THERE MAY
BY SOME SLEET MIXED WITH THE RAIN FOR A BRIEF PERIOD BEFORE CHANGING
TO ALL SNOW.  THE SNOW WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS.
