1230 PM MDT SAT AUG 15 1987
...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER NORTHERN UTAH...
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED RAPIDLY OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHERN
UTAH EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS AT 1215 PM WERE
FROM THE WASATCH FRONT EASTWARD AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM ABOUT PROVO TO
VERNAL.
SEVERAL REPORTS OF HAIL HAVE BEEN RECEIVED FROM THE SOUTH END OF THE
SALT LAKE VALLEY. MOST OF THE HAIL HAS BEEN IN THE 1/4 TO 1/2 INCH
DIAMETER RANGE. HEAVY RAINFALL HAS ALSO BEEN REPORTED.
ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP THROUGH THE AFTERNOON
HOURS. LOCALLY HEAVY SHOWERS AND HAIL ALONG WITH LOCAL MINOR ASTREET
FLOODING ARE POSSIBLE IN THE NORTHERN PORTION OF UTAH FOR THE NEXT
SEVERAL HOURS.
