EFFECTIVE UNTIL  930 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN SOUTHWEST UTAH
          ...EASTERN IRON
 
THE UTAH HIGHWAY PATROL HAS REPORTED FLASH FLOODING OCCURRING IN
PAROWAN AND PARAGONAH CANYONS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.

...HEAVY THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY EXPECTED OVER MUCH OF SOUTHERN UTAH
THIS EVENING...

AT 445 PM SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATED HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOP-
ING OVER MUCH OF SOUTHWEST UTAH AND MOVING EASTWARD.  THE MAIN ACTIVITY
APPEARED TO BE OCCURRING OVER MILLARD...NORTHEAST IRON...AND NORTHWEST
GARFIELD COUNTIES.  AT ABOUT 445 PM THE UHP REPORTED THAT JUST SOUTH OF
BEAVER HAIL ACCUMULATED UP TO 4 INCHES DEEP.  THE HAIL MEASURED UP TO
1/2 INCH IN DIAMETER.

THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BRING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL...SMALL HAIL...
AND POSSIBLY STRONG GUSTY WINDS TO MUCH OF SOUTHERN UTAH THROUGH THIS
EVENING.

THOSE IN SOUTHERN UTAH SHOULD BE ALERT FOR AREAS OF HEAVY SHOWERS AND
LIGHTNING.  VERY LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE IN FLOOD PRONE
AREAS SUCH AS DIPS AND WASHES THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS.
