THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 540 PM PDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF
SOUTHERN WASHOE..WESTERN LYON...AND STOREY.

THE COUNTIES ARE IN WESTERN NEVADA AND THE AREA INCLUDES THE
CITIES OF RENO...SPARKS...THE PYRAMID LAKE AREA...AND THE FERNLEY
AREA.

AT 415 PM SACRAMENTO RADAR AND SATELLITE PICTURES DETECTED A VERY
STRONG THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX CENTERED 20 MILES SOUTHEAST OF RENO MOVING
NORTH AT 20 TO 30 MPH. TOPS OF THIS THUNDERSTORM ARE APPROACHING
50,000 FEET. WIND GUSTS OF 60 MPH OR OVER ARE LIKELY NEAR THIS STORM.

AND BE READY TO MOVE TO A REINFORCED SHELTER. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN
